Essential Functions of the Position
- • Review applications for insurance coverage, reports from loss control consultants and other information to determine if application is acceptable for the commercial program(s) available.
- • Review requests for renewal, cancellation and endorsement. Also requests additional documentation necessary for the processing of an application, endorsement, renewal or cancellation.
- • Ensures a profitable book of business by appropriately evaluating the acceptability of risks within delegated authority levels.
- • Utilize knowledge of automated systems to develop information for new or renewal policies.
- • Prepare quotations for agents as well as answers questions from agents, policyholder, or prospects.
- • Markets Company products and services to agents and actively participates in the agency management process.
- • Demonstrates complex decision-making with little or no supervision, recommending quality exceptions where appropriate to maximize profitability and meet business plans.
Position Qualifications and Requirements
- • 2+ years in commercial underwriting including CGL, Property, BOP, Auto, Crime, IM, Umbrella and/or Workers Compensation
- • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- • Pursuing or have already earned CPCU designation.
- • Ability to effectively and independently manage complex workload while exhibiting very sound judgment.
- • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with agents and other departments and must also exemplify superior teamwork.
